The sub-committee allocates grants for mobility and communication equipment
to help people with disabilities achieve independence and gain access
to the community.
For funding purposes, an individual with a disability is defined as:

sensory, psychiatric or intellectual disability."
Priority is given on the basis of:
- the severity of the disability

quality of life
- the financial circumstances of the applicant with the disability
and their family
- the availability of alternative transport or assistance
- the family situation of the applicant
- the applicant's locality
- any lottery assistance received in the past.
Availability:
About 40-45% of applicants receive funding.
